Volume#2 | Wendelien Daan

Do we wait to see this future play out, or do we already start to build a new type of materialism, now?
— GWEN CUNNINGHAM

The 20th century was about consumption; consumption leads to everyman for himself and the breakdown of community, without community you can’t have culture. If we had culture we would have cooperation, and we would not be in the shit.

-      VIVIENNE WESTWOOD

Volume#2 |Jonathan Herman

It is as if we must punish and sacrifice ourselves in order to be sustainable. Giving up all of life’s extras seems to be the only solution.

— RENNY RAMAKERS

Volume#2 |Lonneke van der Palen

Sustainability must flow from personal perspective and conviction, drawing upon knowledge, craft, a critical approach, social awareness and zeitgeist.

Fashion is a language without words, a universal language. Humans use fashion to communicate something about themselves visually and to relate to others. The fashion we want to share with you is a fashion for humanity.
Founder Olfa Ben Ali

Olfa is a conceptual artist born in Toulouse, France. She lives and works in Amsterdam. She received her bachelor of art from Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam in 2012. Vision and language interrelate in her works, which deal with the melancholy of loss, hopes for the future and the sometimes stark and harsh contrasts of the present that stand in between past and future. Using a language that crosses borders, disciplines and systems, her own experiences and minority discourse she questions and challenges with Re|Fuse today’s relationship between the influential language of fashion and today’s social issues. Full of contrasts and with a strong sense of humanity.
